So Project Runway, one of my all time favorite shows, came back on the other night.
One of the contestants, Christopher Straub, (who also happened to win the first challenge) mentioned a few times that, due to financial issues, he'd never had any formal training and had never been able go to school for fashion and design.
But yet here he is, doing what he loves, making bank, and now on national television competing for $100,000 and hanging out with the lovely Miss Gunn and the smoking hot Heidi Klum!
All because he worked and studied hard and had the passion, guts, and determination to do it all and make his dreams come true!
Which got me thinking...
Um, yea, I have no where near the work ethic, self discipline, or desire to be that hardcore about anything.
Short attention span, you know how it is...
But, there are things that I would like to learn and do.
Small things.
Like...
Learning how to make a cool piece of clothing,
or
learn how to bake delicious pastries,
or
learn how to build a desk!
Ya know, something hobby-ish that wont require tons of time, money, or brains. Lol.
Oh, you get the picture!
So I've decided to compile a list of random things I'd like to learn to help motivate me to actually get out and do them!
I'll just start with a few easy ones and keep you guys updated as I go along.
For beginners I want to:
1. Learn how to play a small instrument.
2. Learn how to cook some vegetarian meals.
3. Learn how to watercolor paint.
I'm going to head into town later today (and yes, I said 'head into town' because I honestly live out in the boonies. Or, in 'East Jesus nowhere', as my friend Katie would say. Lol.) and hit up some of the local music, art, and antique stores to see what I can find in terms of instruments and paints.
I'll try and report back asap!
Cheers for now darlings!
